QUANDHIP/EMERGE aims to ensure efficient response to serious emergent and re-emergent cross-border events by reinforcing the existing EU network of BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories. The objective is to improve capabilities for rapid laboratory diagnosis of emerging or re-emerging pathogens, organizing quality assurance (EQA) for laboratory diagnostics of dangerous pathogens (molecular, classical diagnostic methods and neutralization EQAs) and training on diagnostics and biorisk management. National Biosafety Laboratory organized trainings on BSL-3 and BSL-4 levels as well.
